Two school administrators, four government officers, 14 teachers with and without disabilities, 14 parents, and 14 students with and without disabilities were selected as research participants.

In line with the philosophy of global inclusive education, the government of Nepal has endorsed and enacted different policies to support the principles of inclusive education.

However, a significant portion of marginalised and disabled students are yet to gain access to education in Nepal.

The interviews focused on the students' daily activities, supports and barriers to participation, and descriptions of roles. The protocol was designed through adherence to policy theory practices and accepted standards of practice found in the literature.

This mixed methods study followed 12 students (8 males and 4 females between 14 and 16 years of age) and their parents in order understand students' transition from a demonstration school into high schools, their assistive technology use in both school environments, and how these environments may have impacted their self-concept and school motivation.

Additionally, participants detailed the rippling effects that dangerous, destructive, disruptive behavior had on inclusion, as well as the learning of other students in the classroom and often across the school.

Of importance is for leaders and districts to be cognizant and focused on providing supports to school staff when programming and providing supports for students with significant behavioral needs. Candid, supportive Individualized Education Program (IEP) conversations around least restrictive environment are critical.
