Try to make sense of what you see, and wonder about what makes the universe exist.Be curious.”, I doubt he was thinking about the IB Diploma Program.
Is there a rule about writing your EE about one of the novels that we have been doing in class? I have researched in many other IB forums for students doing their EEs in either of the novels which I have found no one has done an EE in "Purple Hibiscus" and students that have done "A Thousand Splendid Suns" has compared and contrasted it to Hosseini's other work, "The Kite Runner".
I don't want to go down the route of analysing two of Hosseini's work as I have seen comments about "The Kite Runner", a novel that is being overdone for English EEs.
If you feel like you can write a good essay about the books you've chosen - great! 4) I'm not familiar enough with the works to comment specifically on those topics, just make sure that it's not too wide. 1) It's fine to write an EE comparing two novels of your own choosing.
Sit down and formulate a thesis about what the similarities and differences are between the way women, for example, are presented in the novels. So you don't end up just describing what the two novels are like without linking them. It would probably be worse to copy something someone else did.

And either way, the examiner reading your EE will not be the same person as the one reading your other work.
3) There are hundreds of examples out there of people writing their EE about symbolism in Austen novels or themes in post-war fiction or what have you.
But you get my point), I will probably be feeling very blasé... I have been thinking of similar themes between the novels to base the research question on e.g.
-the abusive husbands -historical and cultural context -women - men dominance Thank you to anyone who has taken the time to read my English EE enquiries and answered them. 1) It's fine to write an EE comparing two novels of your own choosing.
