At home, children should continue to read their book. They need to bring their book in to school when they do their test as they will need to refer to it when answering the questions.
Your child will also bring home a book from the library. Each class is allocated a time slot to use the library every week.
This will be a book they have chosen out of pure interest. Ask your child’s teacher for your child’s library time so that you make sure your child has their book bag in school on this day.
The academy provides revision guides for the children in Year 2 and Year 6 to help them prepare for their end of Key Stage statutory assessments.
Each week the class teacher sets homework from this guide for your child to complete. We need to see the revision guides each Friday in their book bags.
Children should be reading daily at home for a minimum of 20 minutes.
Thesis Binding Sydney - Homework For Year 2
Teachers and senior managers use the individual data from Accelerated Reader to monitor reading progress. Children in KS1 have 10 words to learn each week, while children in KS2 have up to 20 words to learn. The marked test will be in your child’s book bag for you to review. In Years 5 and 6 they will be moving onto much more complicated concepts, such as multiplying and dividing using four-digit numbers, plus problem-solving involving fractions and percentages. It is therefore vital that they enter Year 5 really confident in all their times tables.- We have our spelling and times tables tests on Mondays. - Children have free access to fruit at play times and water throughout the day.We follow the No-Nonsense Spelling Scheme in school. We thank you for your support and value your input.Your child needs to know all their times tables (up to the 12 times table) by the end of Year 4.Below is the order we teach the times tables at the academy.Alongside learning their times tables, it is vital that children learn the division facts for each times table (for example: division facts for the 3 x table are: 6 ÷ 3 = 2, 9 ÷ 3 = 3, 12 ÷ 4 = 3).This work is linked to the work that has been taught during the week. Each Friday your child will bring home a Read Write Inc book directly linked to the level of reading and writing your child is doing in phonics. Please make sure your child brings their book bag to school every Friday so the book can be changed.
